NENES AMB SORT(Barcelona, 2007)

LUCKY GIRLS (2007) it is an honoring to the Chinese girls adopted in Barcelona, since this one is the city that receives more girls of this country.

The project is based on the design of a Sandbox playground that is presented as a sculpture that, besides fulfilling a known aesthetic function in the public space, is proposed as a place that can be used. Since the structure is composed by the letters that construct the phrase "lucky girls" or "nenes amb sort", each letter generates several holes that make possible to enter to inside the volume.

The interior of it is stuffed of sand brought from China. It will be a space where the Chinese girls are specially invited to maintain direct contact by their natal land.

This work also stands firm as a meeting point for the parents who have adopted a girl of this Asian country and to fulfill the dream of being parents.
